Come Tri with me!

Subject: Come Tri with me!

Hello to you Valiant Women,

You are receiving this note for one of the following reasons…

1) You told me you registered for the Tri for the Cure.
2) You told me you planned to register for the Tri for the Cure.
3) You told me you will volunteer to help at the Tri for the Cure.
4) I think you are strong & able & want to encourage you to join us at this event.

I just returned from a 13 mile bike ride. I felt strong despite the head wind and not riding for over 2 weeks. I love being on my bike. It clears my mind and makes me feel tough enough to handle anything. Today I thought a lot about the upcoming tri. I believe I can do the duathlon…..run 1mile, bike 8 miles & run 2 miles. This race is so important to me and I want to share this experience with you.

If you can do the full sprint…go for it! I applaud you! If the swim scares you….don’t worry, do the duathlon. Maybe you can form a relay team to split up the events. You are stronger than you think…..I believe in you.

The race is FOUR weeks away…..Sunday, April 19 at Chandler High School. You have plenty of time to break in those running shoes & get that bike ready. Last year, women were side/back stroking in the pool….I even breast stroked some of it. Women had cruiser bikes & walked on the run. It’s not about finishing first, but simply participating. Last year I rode my mt. bike. If you need a bike, I’d be happy to let you ride it……first person to respond gets it.

I suspect a few of you sneaky, creative, organized types are trying to get our team together. J Not sure what is planned! I’d love to join you all on a group ride sometime after my surgery.

If I missed someone on this distribution that would be interested, please forward as appropriate. Thanks!

Live Strong!! Love, Shannon
