"We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face....we must do that which we think we cannot."

A Decade

On April 14, our son turned 10!  A whole decade.  Hard to believe. It was so cute to see his excitement build as his birthday approached. He's still such a little kid at heart.  He's confident in who he is and does not get embarrassed easily.  He never runs out of energy!!!  He loves Legos, stuffed animals, bedtime stories, singing in the shower, carrots, apples and puzzels.  He wanted to try achery for his birthday so we arranged for a few of his friends to join him to celebrate.  It was a fun and a learning experience for all. Happy Bday, Pedro!

Pat's Run

We ran Pat's Run again this year.  4.2 miles in Tempe, finishing in the ASU stadium on the 42 yard line.  Pat Tillman was an amazing person, athlete and soldier who was killed in Afghanistan in 2004.  He wore #42 when playing for the Sundevils, thus the "42" theme for the race.   30,000 people came out this year to honor Pat.  It's a pretty amazing event.
During the race, I wore pink compression socks to honor another fallen athlete, Sally Meyerhoff, a champion marathon winner.  She died in March in Maricopa, AZ.    Race in Peace, Sally.

Spring Sports

This spring the kids are trying new sports.  Lois is playing softball and is really enjoying it.  How can you not with that cute little outfit!  She actually asks to play catch & bat at home.  She has improved so much since the first practice.  Her coach is amazing with the girls.    The boys are playing flag football.  They are enjoying learning something new.

On first and ready to run to second!

Colorguard

Lois tried something new at school this year....colorguard. It's a form of dance theatre with music and props.  The elementary school group used flags, sabres and rifles.  The song they performed to was a techno "popcorn" tune so they also used a box of popcorn as a prop.  The season finale was a performance at the coliseum.  The photos include them practicing outside before their time, group shot and them on the floor.
