Philly

Summer break went so fast! We were fortunate to take a family trip to PA and OH. This post is about our adventure in Philly. What an amazing city rich with history! The final quarter of school, the boys studied about gov't history. The timing for our visit to Philly was perfect! As a family we had just finished reading a book about the Yellow Fever called Fever 1793. It's a great read and seeing the city gave us a deeper appreciation for the history of Philly. Here's some of the highlights of our time in Philadelphia.

Independence Hall. It was wet and rainy but not too bad.
Luke by the life size game pieces with City Hall in the background.

LOVE Park. City of brotherly LOVE! Do you remember the stamp with this sculpture on it many years ago?
We spent several hours at the Franklin Institute Science Museum. Wonderful place! We all enjoyed it.
Love my afro hair!!! It was crazy curly with the rain & humidity.

The Phillie Phanatic! These statues were everywhere!

Family photo in Independence Hall.

The Bell!
Morning breakfast.....waffle with a bell, of course!

Franklin Post Office

The Philadelphia Mint. Great tour. Lots of security.
It was neat to see the manufacturing floor where coins are made.

Yo Adriiiaaaaaan! I did it! Enough said.

Hanging by the Delaware River for the rain to stop. We are enjoying our Amish soft pretzels. Yum!
Taking the subway to the Amtrak train station to pick up our rental car to drive to Gettysburg. The subway ride was a fun experience for all!

That's all for now. Next post......Gettysburg.
