Gettysburg

Gettysburg was a breath of fresh air after the hustle and bustle of Philly. The visitor center is beautiful...just a few years old. They held a ranger program for the kids where they "enlisted" in the military. It was well done and a highlight of our visit. We bought a CD that narrated an auto tour of the Gettysburg area. We learned a lot and have a greater sense of what those soldiers endured during civil war battles.
Hello Lincoln! Here we are at the Gettysburg visitor center.
Welcome to Gettysburg!

One of many, many monuments along the way.

Many cannons along the road.

Beautiful open fields with scattered monuments.

Monument to honor soldiers from Minnesota, my birth state.

This huge monument honored the soldiers from PA.
We drove many miles on the Turnpike on our way to OH.

Hello Ohio! Next post will be from our time in Ohio visiting family.
