"We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face....we must do that which we think we cannot."

Triumphant 13.1

Today I was triumphant! I trained faithfully for 3 months for this day and I did it! I ran the entire 13.1 mile course only slowing to grab water at the aid stations. I ran MY race as I planned. I'm proud of that and my time...2:08. It was a great course and well organized. The race goodies are nice, too........personalize bib, tech shirt, big medal and necklace charm. This is a must do for next year!
For me this race is more than just another endurance event. A year ago this week I finished my radiation treatments. In 12 months I've come from weak, tired and burned to half marathon finisher. This race has significant meaning as a symbol of my strength and determination to live happy, healthy and cancer-free. What an amazing sense of achievement! My success could not have been possible today without the constant support of my coach and best friend.....my husband. We share a passion for healthy living, endurance sports and ambitious goals. He's a remarkable person.
Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me along the way.......so many of you!! Your support gives me confidence to live BIG, healthy and strong!! Your love is a blessing!

I'll leave you with a few quotes that kept me going today........
"The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do."
"Conditions are never just right. People who delay action until all factors are favorable, do nothing. "
"Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal."
