Happy Valentine's Day! What is love to you? We asked our children this at dinner tonight....."caring, kind, hearts, hugs, doing things for someone else". Webster says it's "warm feelings, tender affection or deep devotion; feeling of brotherhood & goodwill toward other people". Hope your day was filled with hugs, hearts & kisses!
Happy Birthday to our amazing state of Arizona. February 14, 1912 it became a state.

Last night we went to a Valentine's dance at our church. Lois by far out danced everyone. No surprise there!

This sunny Valentine morning we picked oranges for the United Food Bank. Homeowners with an abundance of citrus can sign-up with the UFB for volunteers to pick their fruit & then donate it. We went with 3 other families from my MOMS group. We picked these two full pallets. It was fun for the kids, too.

It's been 10 days since my surgery. I feel I'm almost turning the corner. This past week was tough at times. Not because of pain from the surgery, but because of low energy. By lunchtime, I was so tired and could barely carry on. I found if I took a nap, then the rest of the day wasn't too bad. I do have times of discomfort, but mostly due to my GI track trying to get back to normal. This slower pace is very frustrating for me at times. Despite the outward signs of normalcy, my insides are adjusting to huge changes and still healing. I try to remind myself of this. I see the dr in about 1 week. Hopefully, he will clear me for some activity. I desperately miss my active lifestyle.....biking, running and rowing. I look at my bike set up on a trainer in my bathroom every morning and wish I could take it for a spin. I know every day gets me closer to that reality. Patience is a virtue........it's not my strength. LOVE, srb
