My Favorite Things

Thought I would share with you some of my new favorite things and some old time friends.

I recently discovered Kombucha when my naturopath recommend it.  I had some dental work that required me to be on antibiotics.  I'm not crazy about antibiotics because I think they are over used and they throw my whole system off by killing everything.....even the good bacteria, but I don't mess around when it comes to dental work.  To keep the good flora alive while on antibiotics, my naturopath recommended a probiotic, kombucha and Bubbies sauerkraut.  The kombucha and sauerkraut have tons of live cultures, just like yogurt.....but I don't do dairy.  I am now a huge fan of Kombucha.....it's my new cocktail....favorite flavor is Gingerade!  Yum!  The sauerkraut is amazing.......good on potatoes or any sandwich!  Wow!  Happy to say with the help of these products, I had no issues while on the antibiotics.  Hopefully all my tissue grafts for receding gums are done.

This is my new RAW & VEGAN protein powder.  I add it to morning smoothies for the kids and me and use it as my after workout protein drink.   The vanilla flavor is good in the morning with bananas, berries and almond milk.  The chocolate is amazing with almond milk and bananas.  Wow! Just like a chocolate shake!  Great product!

I can not live without coconut oil.  I just started using it on my skin as a lotion.  Not as oily as you would think.  Give it a try.  I don't use a lot of oil for cooking but when I do, this is what I grab.  Popcorn tastes amazing when you use this in a heavy pot and cook it on the stove. Yum!  My kids love it!!

This is a great book.  Even if you have no intentions of going vegan, it is packed full of good info.
Love, love the Happy Herbivore Lady!!  She has some wonderful recipes....simple, easy, healthy!!

A friend just gave me this book.  I've already made several things.....it's a winner!!
The first half of this book has super info about eating healthy and true stories of people's transformation.
The second half of the book is recipes.

Saw this movie a few weeks ago.......incredibly inspiring.  Made me get my juicer out and start juicing again.  Green juice sure makes me feel good.....but it is a lot of work.  Worth it though.
Can't say enough about this movie.  You must see it!

  1. Thanks for sharing, Shannon! I keep looking at the Coconut Oil, but can't ever figure out how to use it in cooking. The popcorn idea is genius!
