"We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face....we must do that which we think we cannot."

Dance

Here's some photos from our holiday.....
Christmas Eve before church. We've made a tradition of a fondue meal on Christmas Eve.....chicken & vegetables for the main meal and chocolate fondue for dessert, of course! The kids love it! I grew up doing it on New Year's Eve. It's fun for all!

Christmas Day at Granny & Pops' house.
We hiked the Peralta Trail in the Superstition Mts. Over 10 years ago, Mark & I hiked this trail and camped at roughly the base of Weaver's Needle. Very fun to go back with the kids. Here we are at the start of the hike all bundled up.

Here we are at Fremont Saddle with the classic view of Weaver's Needle. It got warm and we pealed off our layers.

On January 12th, our crew was back at it on Tempe Town Lake. We are hoping to compete in a regatta on March 6. It's energizing to be with this group of ladies and learning to work together as a team. Those two hours "fill my cup" to tackle the rest of the day! Thanks ladies.....and Coach Pete!

I'm sure you've heard this song before. It was first released 10 years ago by Lee Ann Womack. It reached the top of the charts and won a Grammy. It nearly makes me cry every time I hear it. It's what I wish for my kids and even myself. I find myself "dancing" a lot more these days. Life is so short & precious and our world is so big & full of amazing experiences. Get out there and dance!
"I Hope You Dance"
written by Tia Sillers & Mark D. Sanders performed by Lee Ann Womack

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
