Happy Friday! Yesterday I had my last AC (Adriamycin & Cytoxan) treatment. Hooray! This is my half way point. In two weeks I will start Taxol & Herceptin. Right before that next treatment I will need another MUGA scan to check my heart function. Just like Adriamycin, Herceptin is hard on my heart. The next treatment will be LONG........Taxol takes 3 hours to drip through the IV and Herceptin 90 minutes. I'll be at the office for about 5.5 hours. Ugh! Subsequent treatments of Herceptin will only be 30 minutes. I will go every week to get Herceptin, but only every other week to get Taxol. I'm feeling pretty good. I slept amazing last night. What a blessing. I'm taking less anti-nausea meds....maybe my body is getting used to it.
We joined an organic CSA farm (community supported agriculture) in Mesa and yesterday we got our first basket of fresh veggies & fruit. It's a great concept. We'll get a basket every week delivered to Intel. Fresh, local & organic.....music to my ears! Check it out... http://www.lovegrowsfarms.com/ Yesterday Mark took the boys to the downtown Chandler farmer's market where a farmer from Willcox, AZ sells his organic produce. They brought home some fabulous looking veggies. Yum!!
I just want to thank all the folks who are helping my family in so many ways.........bringing us delicious healthy meals, taking me to dr appts, driving our kids to their activities, having the kids over for play dates, making CDs of your favorite music, sending encouraging cards & e-mails. God has brought so many wonderful, caring people into our lives. We couldn't make this journey without you. I truly believe it takes a village to raise a child. You are our village and we need you more than ever. I know someday I will be able to serve people in need as you have served me and my family. With much gratitude & love, srb
Awesome family Shannon! You are blessed!
